Identify is a gallery focused around the fluidity of identity and it's meaning to each person.
One can be many things moving from genres of emotions and moods, sometimes fluidly or more commonly in feeling confined by peers or society's expectations. Whether conflicted with falling into gender norms or feeling forced to hide emotions of sadness, these things bare weight. The project is a collaboration of myself and those depicted. The idea was to create a space where one would feel open to expressing themselves in as many ways as they felt, to create an environment for a self-portrait away from the eyes of others. Using photography to embody an idea for the depicted to have a material interpretation of themselves.
