I Went Back to Sit in the Sun engages with themes of intimacy, tenderness, obsession, guilt, memory, queer identity, and the fragility and transformation of these forces. Growing up in Oklahoma led to my questioning of identity and visibility in a place where nonacceptance and acceptance coexist and overlap.
