I have had a recurring pattern in my life where I dim myself in order to be what I deem "acceptable" in relationships. The first set of images represents the full version of self, trying so hard to be put on display but rid of the depth that makes me, me. The second set of images is taking back what is yours, realizing you don't have to be what anyon, nor what your thoughts, assign you to be. You can be fully vibrant if you let that pattern go. The pearl in the shell leaves her shell, not defined by what made her. Also, the song "Pink Shell" by King Krule was the main influence of the shoot.
