My name is Emily Brandridge. I am an 23 year old passionate contemporary artist/illustrator. Mediums i work with range from oil paint, oil pastels, colored pencil, pen, collage, but I am always experimenting with new methods. I strive to show the complexity of inner emotions and universal truths that cannot be expressed in words or photographs. As someone who has many mental health issues and complex traumas, my emotions have always been intense and often indescribable to those around me. I found that illustrating is a necessary tool to make sense and express the complexity of what is inside me and what I perceive in the world around me. I believe that my vision, although it is a raw depiction of my inner truth and perspectives on the world, applies to universal feelings that many experience.
