Hyperspace is a 12-dimensional science fiction game I created that visualizes 10 true spatial dimensions and 2 time dimensions. Set in an unexplored universe, players play as a sentient machine discovering immensely warped environments seeking to understand the human condition. The 2 time dimensions of the universe allow players to make multiple choices at the same time and utilize mechanisms to travel smoothly play from one point in the space-time continuum to another.
While Hyperspace is essentially an experiment in game design, it started out as a data-visualization project. I started working on a conceptual version of Hyperspace when I was exploring ways to visualize higher dimensional data. Most of my work has been an exploration in combining principles of design and computational sciences to generate visualizations.
