Kaylie Kaitschuck is a Detroit based textile artist and designer who communicates graphic language through symbols and abstractions to convey a message about everyday life. Her work starts from a simple sketchbook drawing and eventually develops into a large-scale textile yarn explosion. Each piece portrays different everyday phenomenon’s we experience as living creatures. She enjoys working with layers and bundles of information. Her goal is to visually bombard the viewer with a scenery of life. She uses different techniques such as quilting, couching, and dye sublimation printing. An important role in her work is
the meditative process that comes with it. Inspired by nature, she tends to find a connection in the human role created through other living species and life events.
