In this photo series, Lina Kolotilova invites an audience to stroll through an old Soviet hotel “Chișinău” (Moldova) which eclectic interiors adjoin with surreal.
All of this was not created by someone in particular but appeared by gradual layering. The photographer unfolds slow life of these spaces, their own aesthetics of stuck-in-time: the hotel had parted with the age from which it had originated but it has been unable to connect to a new one. It goes adrift outside of time, alone, unaccommodated.
There are no heroes, although many intangible shadows of those, who were unable to moor to the brave new world, can be seen.
