Selina Javaid is an artist and educator based in North London with mixed Austrian and Indian heritage. Her interest in belonging and sense of place has led her to investigate themes around otherness and identity using different paint mediums.
During the pandemic, she craved quiet and stillness, which manifested in memories of childhood in her hometown Edmonton, London UK and her mother town Gastein, Austria which she frequented every school holiday. Nostalgia and sentimental yearning inspired her to create a a series of naive style paintings.
