My paintings explore imagery with limited narratives; often cropping images of fleeting moments into dream-like, reimagined subjects. Using found images, I paint them to act more like a spiritual experience, sometimes using autobiographical themes as personal subjects. My inspiration oscillates between the vastness of French modernist painting and contemporary art. The biggest challenges in my creative process stem from constant reflection and refinement of ideas. I use drawing as a method of pictorial journaling allowing me to play with different states of the work in progress, gradually working in or removing paint to bring new dimensions into the work.
My aim is to bring a spiritual quality to themes of relational experiences; connecting with viewers on an individually unique level.
