My studio practice is solidly earth centered, specifically dwelling on themes of growth and decay within the body. Grounded in that celebration of things transitioning through the overlapping and intertwined stages of life and death, my work often translates fluidly through a variety of media as its made, thriving in the in-between states of organic matter. This body of work starts in staged and styled film photography, which is then physically manipulated, added to, and deconstructed in mixed media collages, sometimes including plant materials, sometimes still further translated into oil on canvas.
