Grow is a large indoor drawing in steel commissioned by the University of Wageningen created by the artist Frank Plant. As the piece exists there are two versions, one using living plants and the other using cut steel plates that have been flocked. A group of students was photographed and used as source material to create two compositions composed of various individuals. The piece has entirely been covered in green flock and in nine of the fourteen heads there is the possibility of incorporating live plants. The choice of the materials was used to reflect the period of individual and collective growth that takes place at university.
