Gran Cretto is the biggest land artwork ever made. Created by the Italian artist Alberto Burri between 1984 and 1989, it aims to be a conceptual reconstruction of the old town of Gibellina, completely destroyed by a earthquake in 1968. Its structure reminds the one of a labyrinth, and it's made up of the ruins of the destroyed town, as a memorial.
This land artwork is located in the middle of the Sicilian country and it looks like a ghost place, forgotten by the world and almost completely desert, despite of its metaphysical charm. The aim of this photo-report is to make people aware of this hidden treasure.
