In my paintings i try to engage the senses of the viewer, intensifying the reality that surrounds us. Within one surface I use different painting techniques. The delicate underneath sketch layer contrasts with impasto, stuructures and painted over surfaces – the living flesh of the painting. The interpreted topic at first becomes the subject of observation, but then in the process, despite precise analysis, it evolves into urestrained portrayal. The dynamic, expressive gestures I use in the paintings are not limited by the idea – the idea gives inspiration for further formal experiments. Landscapes becomes an excuse for depicting not only the forgotten beauty of nature, but also its complexity, the mood, emotions, feelings, longings and excitements that accompany the moments of communing with nature.
