Exploring my family roots, I started in Italy, where 39 per cent of my family came from, and visited ancestral landscapes in southern Italy. Immersed in their history, I discovered interconnected memories that shape my identity. Embracing the genetic theory of inherited memories, I employed Physarum Polycephalum, the Blob, to transform portraits of ancestors. This brainless organism challenges us to consider the possibility of storing and transmitting knowledge in our cells. Can we, like the Blob, carry memories and intelligence through our genetic make-up?
