Thesis Project at CSM MA Communication Design. The Free Parti movement is a response to my discontentment and numbness towards the political situation in Lebanon, my home country. Concerned that the youth are turning away from the realities of life using the nightlife as an escape,I created tools to transform the rave community into a critically and politically engaged group, its own political party. Placing fact and fiction side-by- side, the project uses deception, communication and design tactics to dilute and simplify politics. A bilingual magazine juxtaposes care-free nightlife editorials in English with news reports of the conflicts in Arabic. Techno tracks were composed entirely from of the sounds of bombings during the Lebanon-Israel War of 2006. Free Parti replaces passive consumption with active engagement.
