With the title Costa Ragazzo — literally translated Italian for coast boy — Floris (°1991) takes us back to his roots by the ocean where a life of glitter, glamour, casinos and soccer rules the beach. As all these aspects of the wonderful rich beach life result mostly in a crappy kitsch aesthetic where gold chains and Italian language are misinterpreted, Floris his work is anything but that. Starting from pure chaos with all kinds of black, paint and spray he gradually refines his pieces by finding beauty in the small things of life, and ads some fantastic colours when necessary.
