We're noisy. We exist in social flocks. We usually choose one partner for life, or at least for a long time. These are some of the parallels between birds and humans that I've been exploring lately in my art. A bird is a common object to many, either hardly noticed or viewed as a pretty ornament. Upon close watching, birds are vibrant and weird. They're tough, and a little mysterious. I like to take these nontraditional views of birds and use them to express my observations and feelings about human relationships and interactions.
