Fata Morgana

For my Fata Morgana series I worked with the old analogue camera that I get from my grandfather. I love film photography, because the pictures exudes something timeless and warm and images that come from a film have an even higher (apparent!) relation to reality for me than digital photography. So the surreal effects that I reach with special techniques become very powerful.
I work with speciaI prism lenses and pre- expose my films with colored light and I never know exactly how the light will distribute on the film and which meaning it will take on. The light effects become meaningful when they connect with the motif and that’s the aesthetic for me: the combination of two images that have emerged independently of each other, but unite in the picture.
