Growing up in the suburbs of Houston, my access to wilderness and nature was limited. The few experiences that I did have with it were restricted to idealized versions of it- namely film and model depictions. With my images, I question the way in which we represent and construct the landscape to fit our image of it. Photographs of dioramas stand in for actual, natural spaces, and actual, natural spaces stand in for dioramas. This reversal asks the question; what is real or not real?
