Ashley Garrels is a multimedia visual artist living and working on Duwamish land in Seattle, WA. Her work continually seeks to explore the relationships between body, space, intimacy and human interaction.
Photography has always provided the ability to fill in the gaps that language leaves behind. Forever curious about and intertwined with her environment, she often seeks out the quiet, even mundane moments.
She is exhaustive in her pursuit of color and experimentation within painting, photography, videography, ceramics and fibers. Despite her best effort, she dislikes talking about herself in the third person.
