In September of 2017, my father, his wife, youngest child and myself went to Cairo to try and get her three other kids who were still in Egypt. They haven't all been together in the same room in almost twelve years. The kids were living with the father and grandmother in Ma'adi, Cairo. Both of them had passed away in recent years and the kids had been by themselves eight months prior to us arriving.
My dad, his wife and a local Egyptian and friend, Ehab spent months trying to get immigrant visas for them with aid of Marco Rubio's team. We flew to Egypt with no idea if we would be able to get them to the U.S. Luckily we ended up getting visas a few days before our flights home. This is a small sample of images of the kids in their home they grew up in. They are currently in Tallahassee, Florida and doing fantastic.
