Uprooting - a quintessential human experience whereby one is being torn from their home, their customs. In fact, it is the fabric of human’s experience existence. It is a narrative that profoundly defines human’s identity - a narrative in which I also find mindself intricately entwined with.
In a form of nomadic exploration, I navigate through my own ancestral heritage, carrying within me both the nourishing fruits of my cultural legacy and the enduring scars of those who proceed me.
In this body of work, I explore the complexities of returning to a place that once felt like home, experiencing being a stranger in my hometown striving to blend with the scenery.
Through these portraits, I seek to highlight my quest of identity through some individuals that maintained their attachment to the land.
