The subjects in my images vary widely, but the intention of capturing them stays the same. I am interested in the interplay of spaces and the objects within those spaces, how they coexist and how they fight for attention. I am an observer but never a tourist to these spaces. I use photography as my medium of expression because it leads me on my journey of self-expression to a new understanding of the world around me. My photography is multifaceted. I use every aspect of my life to create different bodies of images. I draw upon socio-economic issues, family life, and sometimes simply light and shadows. As a Latina artist, I believe that I have a multicultural perspective that allows me to create work that is accessible to people in all walks of life. I believe I have a creative voice that is better seen then heard.
