Through my work I explore what it means to be human, in an era where old paradigms, that provided meaning to human life throughout the twentieth century, are no longer valid. My questioning takes the form of a body of work that consists of an ever expanding collection of alternative human, semi human and subhuman forms. With these forms I try to create a new language, that expresses my thoughts and feelings on the value of human life in our modern Western society. At first glance my creations can seem bleak and foreboding, but upon closer examination they reveal their lighter, more humorous side. All is not lost.
