Grace creates relatable but improbable situations using familiar yet surreal imagery to explore different facets of the human condition. In this specific series, Grace is exploring power dynamics by employing cartoonish, abstracted horse characters. Horses are emblems of strength, grace, and freedom that humans corral, tame, and break for their own purposes. This series uses subtle humor to imply the idea of human involvement nonsensically impeding the autonomy of these "horses". Ropes and chains entrap and confine them in lose-lose situations, causing dysphoria, resentment, restlessness, and even resignation.
