Jeffly Gabriela Molina’s body of work combines images with poetry. She sources, archives, and at times, re-stages seemingly unconscious gestures of persons, animals, objects, and places made beautiful and absurd by their ability to convey meaning and emotion. To create her paintings, sculptures, and poems, Molina combines photographs and information found online, and in books, and reconstructs moments that are compelling to her because in the present they have been transfigured by nostalgia, or hope. These images of love, hope, family, and loss are drawn loosely from the places she has lived, both in Venezuela and in the U. S.
