People fascinate me. I have always been curious about what makes them tick and how they cope with the world. For many years I worked as a psychotherapist, helping traumatized people learn to deal with their emotions. We used words to help them connect body and soul.
Then 20 years later, I again picked up a camera. I still wanted to work with people, but with images instead of words. My vocabulary changed from verbal to visual.
Taking photographs gives me a powerful way to connect with people and share the connection in a very tangible way. These eight photos represent a coming together of my passions. Here, I have photographed people who are expressing care and connection, in all kinds of different relationships. These photos were not posed but instead grew out of our involvement during a shoot.
