Catch of the Day is an environmental photo-documentary series reflecting on the idea that “all sensitivity is ecological”.
It goes through the story of the beach community of Bahía Principal in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, where groups of fishermen, cooks, dock workers, restaurateurs, facility providers and families work together every day to bring in fish and support the village’s trade.
The series highlights the community’s innate environmental fishing and business practices, which protect the sea, the reproduction of marine species and enhances the overall quality of life of the people involved. Capturing the universal in the particular, this collection of photographs aims to create multiple points of connection between the individual’s experience and their coexistence with nature.
