Caston is a local coffee roastery based in my hometown, Taicang. Caston has made its name in the B2B coffee world by producing coffee beans and other related products for some of the leading brands in the Chinese coffee scene. This rebrand coincides with Caston's entering into the consumer-facing market.
An 80s-inspired geometric custom typeface is custom-made for the brand. The typeface's playful ligatures signifies the idea of using coffee to connect people and form communities. A bright lime color also is used as highlights to ensure shelf presence. To make sure the packaging can effortlessly work across the company's large portfolio—from the volumn blends to the always-rotating small batch roasts—a simple yet effective sticker system is developed to allow details to be changed on the fly by the in-house team.
