Although I normally shoot with Polaroid, I sometimes use an antique camera called FED-4. This camera is older than me. It must have been from the early 80s. It’s a very special camera for me, because it belonged to my granddad, who has passed away many years ago. I am not very particular about material things, but if there is fire in the house, I’d probably grab this piece of an old Soviet camera first. The camera shoots with weird violet glitches, and I love it for this reason, the outcome is always unpredictable, almost as with an instant camera. The pathfinder is manual too, and sometimes the film gets stuck. So it’s a very challenging task to operate this FED-4 and yet I love its 35mm result.
