The residents of Weimar (Germany) tell each other that no matter how nice the weather is, there is always a colorless cloud over the Ettersberg. Beneath these clouds lies the former Buchenwald concentration camp. The Nazis committed crimes here from 1937 to 1945, which 56,000 of the 277,800 prisoners did not survive. After liberation by the American army, the site was used by the USSR to imprison its own opponents. Today, the Buchenwald Memorial welcomes visitors from all over the world. Exhibitions and the grounds themselves bear witness to the stories of the victims.
