Boombox is an alternative performance space built in a semi-truck trailer. With a desire to create work and have an accessible workplace, the co-founding of Boombox (Katie Lowen, Diego Romero and Ileanna Cheladyn) has become the current nucleus of my practice where I have the freedom to engage with the community and present both my work and the work of others.
After an intense period of renovations, Boombox became the home base of our creative processes and ultimately provides a safe, private, and alternative environment that now doubles as a theater and rehearsal space. After 18 months of operation, Boombox has grown beyond our expectations and has hosted the research and creation of over twenty multi-generational artists and 10 public showing events of their work.
