My work is about creating worlds of figures or “crowds” that arise directly from the subconscious - without clear planning, but with a deep connection to the inner impulses that move me. The spontaneous, intuitive process is of utmost importance to me, as I do not seek fixed answers in art, but rather want to open up the space in which the emotions and energies of the figures can unfold. Each work arises from the moment, as a response to what concerns me internally, and shows the lively dynamics between the individual and the collective. The figures are never isolated, but always part of a larger whole. Yet their uniqueness is maintained in every moment - be it through their posture, their facial expressions or the way they are integrated into the composition.
