My recent artwork is an exploration of current society through immediate images, that I carefully assemble by using hand cut outs from vintage magazines (Barbie catalogues, Playboy, fashion editorials).
I have been conveying my stories through this medium for almost two years; dominantly it is an ongoing adventure of the main character I have discovered whilst diving into this practice - ‘Barbz’.
Her narrative is a direct reflection of the modern culture I witness through digital media. I am strongly influenced by trends that take over current, fast paced society (and as quickly are forgotten); these trigger a humorous scene with a satirical unfolding. I investigate feminism, sustainability and ongoing events.
