Aura through Image-making

June Lihua Yu’s work explores the “aura” of things, focusing on how images tell stories through fragmented narratives, sensuous materials, and playful associations. Inspired by films and literature, she combines image-making, typography, and editorial design to reassemble materials with personal interpretations. She draws on fleeting moments of beauty and uses design to evoke visceral sensations and memories. Influenced by surrealism, essay films, and the impact of technology, her practice challenges conventional viewing, creating space for curiosity, introspection, and the discovery of convulsive beauty.
