My works focus on characteristic, sometimes childlike figures whose facial features are always unmistakably shifted and have their origin in my imagination. These figures emerge spontaneously and unconsciously, often in lively groups that merge into one another and appear as a mass of figures, sometimes larger, sometimes smaller. The transitions between characters are fluid, making it difficult to pinpoint the exact beginning or end of any one character.
My figurative groups reflect scenes, objects and trends from my everyday life and personal environment that influence and inspire me. I lift these everyday aspects out of their usual context and mix them into the colorful world of my characters. In this way, multi-layered collections of figures arise in my works, which are inspired by reality and my imagination.
