Noire was raised in Houston, Texas. She received her BFA (Individualized Film/Video/Performance and Drawing) from California College of the Arts in San Francisco/Oakland. Noire studies in graphic design, typography, architecture, and fine art have shaped her aesthetic, thus far, in much of her works to date. Noire’s work merges gestural mark-making with structured line-drawing which dominate the overall composition. In this realm of competing styles of mark-making (gestural, precision mark-making), the works highlight the desire to create freedom, harmony, and balance between those worlds.
Noire has developed an aesthetic that has been described as heavily structured with immense attention to detail yet surprisingly whimsical.
Noire currently lives and works in Lynn, Ma.
