There’s a constant pull between control and chaos. As a neurodivergent mother, I feel it intensely as I strive to simply meet the demands of daily life. In an effort to abandon negative coping patterns, I now find my peace through the process of painting and experimental printmaking. Primarily using gouache and watercolor, I enjoy exploring themes of pop-culture, beauty found in ordinary objects, and the intricacies of the human psyche. My recent work reflects my personal challenge to channel my inner chaos as I seek out the serene. These selected pieces are from my solo show titled “Control” and are a combination of photography, digital painting, and digital abstraction techniques. All are hand-transferred to various substrates.
