I view art as a source of dissipation not only for the creator but also for the viewer. Compositions that induce questions or intrigue the mind tend to draw my attention and can keep my viewer’s eyes lingering. In my composition’s I strive to create a space for a viewer to fall into when they view my work.
I am heavily inspired by artists like Alice Herbst and Georges Suerat. I find myself drawn towards certain anatomical motifs such as rabbits and birds, and I enjoy creating textural and colorful compositions with them. The colorful, somewhat-loose approach I take with my art can be seen as illustrative or juvenile; but I aim to open the minds of my audience into enjoying visual art as something to use for reflection as I do through my work.
