In my Animal series, often different animals are portrayed in simple and dynamic way. And by using strong colors and obvious lines I would like viewer to feel the emotions of each animal in direct way. Most of the time I begin working with line drawings, and as more ideas surface, I focus on composition and harmony. Mark-making also plays an important role in my work. I believe that mark-making is one of the most essential elements to express visual and emotional texture. I do not start out with a specific plan. My imagery is created as different elements that react to each other on the surface.
My goal is to create a visual world that fills people with cheerful energy. These could be messages of hope or simple reflections of ideas and themes that resonate with my own personal experiences.
