These latest works are acrylic on photographs mounted to panels. I sort of painted my way into this science fiction idea where our environment is trying to communicate with us in a very literal way - by creating an alphabet. It is an extension of the idea that we can read or interpret the weather. I look to the process of tree growth and the formation of twisters as inspiration for the science behind the concept, a mobilization of matter. I also find interesting the idea of the environment having a consciousness, at first you think, well, no, of course it doesn't but if you get to the idea of what an ultimate collective consciousness might be then you think well, maybe, yeah.
