Luke Mack is an oil painter based in Detroit, currently focused on what it feels like to live alongside technology so intimately, and how that influences identity, memory, and perception. Visually referencing baroque art and fashion photography, Mack combines figurative realism with stark, bold forms inspired by computer glitches and neon lights to create an entirely new hybrid identity of the subjects. Additionally, some of the works are intended to evoke a sense of unease to the viewer, unsure if it is seen from the point of view of a human or a machine.
