ALIVE, AGAIN explores the inevitability of renewal. The collection of drawings asks its viewers to look inward and question humanity’s perpetual struggle with expectation. What if we anticipated the opportunity to begin again – infinitely and without restriction – regardless of our surroundings and free from the judgment and social trappings of age or experience?
Using colored pencils, cotton paper, and a warm color palette, Jessie’s work focuses on simple figurative outlines with dreamlike motifs from the natural world. These figures are at once unknowable and familiar, living in between memory, reality, and imagination. Jessie’s work encourages the viewer to engage with details of human complexity that everyday observation often fails to fully capture.
