After Hours: Fun & Friendship at Spanish Hostels

For the month of November, I traveled around Spain on a solo excursion exclusively staying in Hostels in Barcelona, Madrid, Granada and Seville. If I could choose one word to use to describe my experience it would be ‘exhilarating’

Having never traveled alone, I hoped staying at a hostel would be the move. I chose correctly. For people that have never stayed at a hostel, there are anywhere from 40-80 18-40 year-olds running around at one time in a shared space that you could call moderate in size on a good day. WOAH. There usually is a common room, a couple areas for sleeping (8 beds to one room…) and bathrooms (I did not photograph the bathrooms). It’s intimate with people you didn’t know an hour ago, but after a shared dinner, drinking games, a bar moment, a walk to get tapas, you become inseparable.
