I’m Clarisse (she/they), an illustrator, art director, and multidisciplinary designer based in New York City. My works often feature women and the ebb and flow of the feminine form intertwined with flora and fauna. I like to represent raw, emotional moments through flowing lines and moody colors across various mediums such as watercolor, textiles, digital, and glass. Having moved to New York City from Manila, Philippines, I like to take inspiration from strong female leads in the diaspora as well as feature my own experiences and culture as a queer Filipina. Through my work, I want to explore what it means to navigate society as an immigrant, as a queer person, as a woman, as a Filipina, and how these different experiences intersect and the kind of emotions they create.
