When people are photographed, they try to put themselves in the best possible light. They want to make a strong and self-assured impression in the photos. These are the photos I don’t want. I am interested in the vulnerability and intimacy of the people I photograph, as well as their beauty and youth. For this series I worked together with young people who had never stood in front of a camera before. Some of them are from my circle of friends, others I approached on the street. I photographed each of them for no more than 3 hours. They were not supposed to get accustomed to the camera or get into a routine, they were to keep their tension. For me the challenge was to get through to them in the shortest possible time.
