New paintings by Chinese artist Jesse Zuo (previously featured here). Currently based in New York, where she earned her BFA and MFA from the School of Visual Arts, Zuo’s solo exhibition at LATITUDE Gallery debuts in November. The show features a new body of work that delves into the complex themes of womanhood, the sensory experience of our bodies, and the tumultuous journey of emotions.

Zuo’s paintings explore the dynamic relationship between light, colour, and atmosphere, capturing immersive moments that invite viewers to feel comfortable in their own skin. While rooted in traditional realism, she infuses her work with modern twists that encourage personal interpretation of the times and places depicted. Her artistic expressions function as a personal diary, reflecting her experiences as a young woman navigating the intricacies of a foreign environment.
