A print series inspired by comics and the language of digital culture by artist and designer Karol Polak. Based in Gdańsk, Poland, Polak creates prints using a mix of digital manipulation and ink dissolving substances. The process adds a human element of unpredictability and imperfection. Drawing from old computer games and low-fi aesthetics, Polak crafts compositions that touch on the nostalgia of the digital realm as well as the synergy between digital and physical art forms that continues to evolve into the future:
“In this series, I focused on the search for painterly pixel values and the transformation of the impressions characteristic of the screen into a material object in the form of a print on paper. My artistic practice is situated within the realm of post digital art, where I strive to bring a more human quality to the digital landscape.”
