A selection of work from UK-based painter Rob Lyon. Inspired by the rural landscape of Southern England where he grew up, and returned to as an adult, Lyon works methodically and meditatively to capture and inscribe the unique spirit of the area. With its distinct ridges of rolling hills and valleys, his paintings reflect the underlying patterns and subtle repetitions of the natural world where pathways lead, more often than not, to dead ends and shifts in scale and space challenge human order and understanding. Lyon’s work will be featured in the upcoming group exhibition, “The Reason for Painting,” at the Warwick Arts Centre at the University of Warwick in Coventry, England next month.
