Taking place during winter on the Danish island of Bornholm, where photographer Anne Lass currently resides, her recent photobook, “Low Season” (Another Place Press, 2022), captures life after dark in the off-season, both inside and outside of the home. Studying the effects of artificial light, she is interested in seeing how light and shadow shape the moods of the scenes she photographs, likening the effect to the Twin Peaks series—a significant influence for Lass. She leaves the narrative intentionally ambiguous, inviting the viewer to use the images as a projection for their own memories and imagination.
